Benefits

Over time, lips tend to lose volume leading to a lack of definition of the lip borders. Small wrinkles around the lip margins lead to bleeding of lipstick radiating around from the lips. At times the corners of the mouth may droop further affecting the overall appearance of the lips. Revitalizing the lips can make a big difference to the overall facial appearance, a person’s self esteem and confidence. Excessive gummy smile can be improved and asymmetries are addressed for a greater harmony and balance.

How Does it Work?

We address the various components of the aged lip in a comprehensive manner. Dermal fillers replenish volume and restore definition and luster to the lips. We employ a new technology called “Ferning” which avoids direct injection into the lips themselves resulting in a more natural appearance with less swelling and bruising. Downturned corners of the mouth can be brought up by both dermal fillers and Botox leading to a more youthful and happy appearance. Fine lines radiating from the lip are also softened by a combination of dermal fillers, Botox and laser.

It is a non- surgical procedure by which the gel is administered through a few tiny injections by the physician. You may find that a topical anesthetic cream or local anesthetic is needed to help numb the area being treated. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding this treatment should be avoided.

The majority of people resume normal activity immediately following the procedure. After the treatment you might experience some swelling, redness, pain, bruising and tenderness usually lasting less than 7 days. Applying ice packs to the area helps reduce swelling significantly.

Individual factors such as age, skin type, lifestyle and muscle activity will influence how the dermal filler will hold its effect. Results are individual and are expected to last between 6-9 months with some patients experiencing a slightly longer duration.
